Assessment methods and criteria
Interim evaluation

Credit is given for work in preparation of the Bachelor's thesis, the condition for credit is not the submission of the Bachelor's thesis for defence (if the student fails to complete the thesis in the 6th semester of study, he/she enrols in the following semesters of KME/893 Bachelor's thesis practice, 0 credits, until the thesis is completed). Credit is awarded by the department head based on the fulfillment of two conditions: (a) the supervisor's confirmation of the student's active work on the assigned topic of the bachelor's thesis (literature study, experiments or other specific tasks required for the bachelor's thesis) for a minimum of 50 hours (optimum 75 hours); b) reporting on the progress of the bachelor thesis at the KME seminar as instructed by the head of the department. In case the thesis has serious deficiencies and will not be recommended for defence, but the student has meaningfully worked on it for the required number of hours, this is not a reason for not granting credit.
