1) time value of money 2) simple and compound interest 3) models of money saving and debt redemption 4) securities, bonds, shares, options 5) portfolio analysis 6) construction and characteristics of mortality tables 7) mortality laws and smoothing of mortality tables 8) approach to life insurance using commutation numbers 9) principles of premium calculation in life insurance 10) non-life insurance and its calculation 11) insurance-technical reserves and funding of insurance companies

Learning outcomes
The aim is to get a complex view about students knowledge in the courses of Financial and Insurance Mathematics.
Students know well the field of financial and insurance mathematics, they understand the basic principles of interest and time value of money, they are able to model various types of money saving, debt redemption, determine the fair price of securities and compare profitability various financial products using relevant mathematical tools. They are also able to calculate premiums for different types of life insurance using relevant mortality tables and premiums of non-life insurance.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

Students have to prove their complex understanding of the basic terminology and principles of financial and insuarence mathematics, they have to be able to respond to particular questions and to apply theoretical knowledge in examples.
