Course content
Lectures: Basic terminology, hardware - platforms, hardware - PC, operating systems, network, Internet, software, text processing and typography, advanced text processing, Work with spreadsheet, elementary data processing, solving managerial problems, macros and modules. Seminars: 1 - introduction to the course, assignments; basic terminology 2 - ICT in university environment 3 - operating system services and internet services 4 - text processor: automiaticaly generated texts, seminary work 5 - spreadsheet procesor: 6 - addressing and formulas 7 - graphs 8 - text functions and filters 9 - filters, calassification, intervals, histograms 10 - XY graphs, finding linear dependencies 11 - pivot tables - elementary data processing 12 - spreadsheet processing - solving managerial problems 13 - macros and modules

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)

Learning outcomes
The course of Informatics has two main objectives. The first one is to introduce students to the basic terminology, and to obtain basic overview about information technology. The latter is focus on the basic skills in text processor and spreadsheet calculator o which the emphasis is. The seminars are specialised on the problems related to managerial area.
Students will understand the basic terminology and obtain skills for use of a text processor and spreadsheet calculator.

The course has no prerequisities.

Assessment methods and criteria
Analysis of student's work activities (technical works), Combined exam, Seminar work

Credit Requirements: Obtaining at least 8 points out of 12 in two task, homework is for 4 points, test us for 8 points. Examination Requirements: Theoretical exam concerned with lectures. The final mark is based on the results of credit works and a final examination. The course is supported with LMS Moodle.
