Concept of information, sources of information, methods of information collection, binary number system Primary and secondary information sources Search in online library catalogs Search in bibliographic databases, searches Rules of citations of information sources, citation SW, citation standard APA, ČSN ISO 690, errors in citations Ethics in science, plagiarism, validity of information Creation of a qualification thesis Professional CV, business cards Web services on the Internet, AI Digital image processing, creation of comics and advertising materials Sound processing (Audacity program) Video processing (ShotCut program) Preparation of a presentation in a suitable software environment Business process visualization - creation of UML documents (use case diagrams), mind maps, poster Abstract, annotation, keywords

Learning outcomes
The course is targeted at the practical utilisation of information technologies with an emphasis on scientific work. It consists of three parts, characterized as searching, management and presentation of information. The student will complete partial homework assignments. An e-learning environment is exploited throughout the course. The course is intended primarily for students who are preparing to create a qualification thesis.
The student is oriented in an e-learning environment. He/she will perform practical skills in the area of searching, management and presentation of information: citation norms, bibliography databases, simple management of graphical, audio and video materials, preparation of scientific texts, basic principles of oral presentation.

The course has no prerequisities.

Assessment methods and criteria
Analysis of student's work activities (technical works)

Conditions for granting credit in the first term: 1) Development of ten partial practical tasks in the e-learning environment, which must be submitted in the required quality (including any corrections) no later than the end of the last working day in the credit week of the relevant semester. Each of the submitted tasks can be corrected once. 2) Final performance with a presentation according to the established requirements or its adequate replacement. 3) Physical active participation in 80% of seminars. Conditions for granting credit in the second term: Successful completion of the didactic test in the e-learning environment with at least 60%. The test can only be repeated once.
