Course content
1. The concept of information, information sources 2. Information resources, online library catalogs, search 3. Primary and secondary information sources, on-line library catalogues 4. Bibliography databases, information searching 5. Citing information resources, citation standards, citation software 6. Ethics in science, plagiarism 7. Web services on the Internet, website creation 8. Digital processing of graphic materials, GIMP program 9. Digital sound processing, Audacity program 10. Digital video processing, Shotcut program 11. Creating a presentation in the appropriate software, specifics of oral presentation 12. Abstract of qualification work 13. Business process visualization - creation of UML documents, mind map

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)

Learning outcomes
The course is targeted at the practical utilisation of information technologies with an emphasis on scientific work. It consists of three parts, characterized as searching, management and presentation of information. The student will complete partial homework assignments. An e-learning environment is exploited throughout the course.
The student is oriented in an e-learning environment. He/she will perform practical skills in the area of searching, management and presentation of information: citation norms, bibliography databases, simple management of graphical, audio and video materials, preparation of scientific texts, basic principles of oral presentation.

The course has no prerequisities.

Assessment methods and criteria
Analysis of student's work activities (technical works), Combined exam

Completing at least 10 partial projects in an e-learning environment. Exam test with 20 tasks. Evaluation for the test: 19 and 20 points - "výborně" 17 and 18 points- "výborně minus" 15 and 16 points - "velmi dobře" 13 and 14 points - "velmi dobře minus" 10 and 12 points - "dobře" 9 points and less - "nedostatečně"
