Course content
1. Definition and basic terminology; outline of the development of the German spelling; I. and II. German spelling council; Konrad Duden 2. - 3. Sound-character awareness 4. - 5. Writing words together or separate 6. - 7. Spelling with hiphen 8. - 9. Writing upper case and lower case 10. - 11. Punctation 12. - 13. Hyphenations at the end of the line 14. Test

Learning outcomes
Aim of this subject is to present students a complete overview about the principles of the comtemporary German spelling rules, especially about the changes in 1996 and the following years. Students practise, deepen and consolidate their skills in German spelling rules.
Students learn to understand the principles of the contemporary German spelling, especially regarding to the changes in 1996 and the following years.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of the German spelling.
