Course content

Learning outcomes
Corpus linguistic is a modern and growing method of linguistic research. It enables objective evaluation and statistical interpretation of a large amount of data. For not native speakers it therefore provides a reliable empirical base, especially in the field of lexicology and grammar. A suitable corpus research can substitute consultation with native speaker. After finishing their studies the students need some toll, which help them to solve their lexical and grammar problems.
The students will learn to use the corpus DeReKo and to analyze corpus data. They will obtain skills, which help them to evaluate the linguistic data empirically and objectively.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment

All examinations and consultations are held in German. Reading of scientific sources, corpus analysis (DeReKo), oral presentation.
