Course content
Topics of lectures: 1. Quality. National quality policy. National Quality Award of the Czech Republic 2. Quality Management Systems (QMS). Principles and concepts 3. ISO 9000 series. Industry Standards and GMP 4. TQM. EFQM Model of Excellence 5. QMS implementation, internal and external audits. Certification 6. Corporate quality policy. The context of the organization. Leadership 7. Operation (planning, product and service requirements, design and development, external suppliers, production/provision of services, production release, mismatched production) 8. Performance evaluation and quality improvement 9. Quality improvement tools. PDCA 10. Specific standards related to QMS. EMS, HSMS and integrated management systems 11. Quality management in the selected organization (lecture by an externalist - RBCB, Budvar, Schwan Cosmetics) 12. Audits from the point of view of the trainer (lecture by an externalist of the CsJ) 13. Excursion: organization with applied QMS (non-food production) 14. Excursion: organization with applied QMS (food production) Expert lectures by externalists and excursions to selected production organizations will further develop topics related to quality management. Teaching in 8 consultations (16 h).

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with basic aspects of quality in relation to state activities (national quality policy, national quality award, legislative, normative and accreditation activities) and quality management at the level of organizations (quality management, environmental and safety management). The course is also a preparation for certification by the Quality Manager -junior within the framework of the follow-up study.
Students understand the basic concepts of quality and quality management. They can identify the basic principles of quality management and understand the basic concepts of quality management. They perceive quality management as an important part of corporate management and a condition for sustainable company success.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, Seminar work

Credit requirements: Elaboration and presentation of seminar papers in accordance with the assignment, participation in excursions and lectures of practitioners. Test requirements: Passing a written test with a min 60% success rate.
