Complaining and Apologizing- Small Talk - Complaining and apologizing listening activity with useful expressions - Small talk; making conversation and listening activity 5. Writing Emails - Email vocabulary - Email language; Formal vs informal 6. Problem Solving - Problems and solutions discussion and vocabulary - Problem solving listening activity 7. Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to provide a working understanding of the English terminology, grammar and vocabulary required in order to communicate and manage successfully in an environment connected with tourism or trade and to increase fluency and confidence in using the language of those industries. Students will also develop business skills in areas such as writing reports, making suggestions and giving presentations. During every lesson we will work on English business vocabulary acquisition and aspects of grammar used in different business situations. The course will involve discussions, role-playing exercises and video and listening activities.
Students will be able to demonstrate understanding of the main tourism and trade industries' related English terminologies, vocabulary and grammar, which is necessary for successful communication and management through oral discussions, role plays and group presentations.
Prerequisites
Basic grounding in English. For students wishing to study English at intermediate level or higher.

Seminar work

Credit Requirements: Writing assignments and presentation of seminary work on given topic. Examination Requirements: None
