Course content
1. Consultation: Definition of the fair trade system 2 h a) The organization in fair trade system (FT) b) Development of FT c) Organizational background (FTI / FLO, WFTO) 2. Fair trade 4 h a) The countries in Fairtrade International (FLO) b) The FT Commodities c) Trade FT in terms of FLO d) Trade FT in Czech Republic e) FT Selected products - Seminar work f) FT Selected destinations - Seminar work 3. Fair trade projects and presentations of seminar papers 2 h a) Projects FT: FT town, schools and churches; World Day FT b) FT Selected products: the presentation and tasting - Seminar work c) FT Selected destinations - Seminar work As part of the consultation: screenings of films by FT or FT application tutorials.

Learning outcomes
Subject introduces students to an alternative system applied in international trade, defines its basic social and environmental benefits for developing economies. The teaching will be presented territorial, commodity and organizational characteristics of fair trade. Attention will be focused mainly on the largest certification system managed by Fairtrade International/FLO.
Students will be aware of the issue of inequality in world trade. They will get acquainted with the concept of fair trade and the benefits that flow from it for small farmers / producers in developing countries. They will gain the ability of a socially responsible approach in business activities.

Seminar work

Credit requirements: Elaboration and presentation of seminar work in accordance with the assignment.
