Course content
Students will be introduced to the phenomenon of otherness and will learn to perceive it in its social context, they will become familiar with the basic definitions of the concept of intercultural education and in reflection they will become familiar with the assumptions of intercultural education. They will learn about practical experiences, specific perspectives and areas of practice.

Learning outcomes
The course focuses on reflection on the whole of contemporary society from an intercultural perspective. The starting point for grasping the contribution and critical reflection will be the perspective of plurality at the level of religion. Students will learn about the basic potential and limits of diversity in relation to educational processes. Students will also be introduced to appropriate methods of intercultural education, which they will derive from methods appropriate for education with respect to religious and worldview diversity. Students will certify their knowledge of basic terms and theories related to intercultural education in a final knowledge test. Requirement of the seminar part of the thesis: the student will participate in a group that introduces one socio-cultural group and facilitates a direct encounter with a representative of this socio-cultural group.
Students will learn to see the potential that diversity offers for education and acquire the ability to critically evaluate its potential in specific situations. They will use a practical example to test the knowledge acquired and consolidate the competences acquired in the subsequent reflection.
Prerequisites
Active involvement of students in the seminar part of the course is a prerequisite.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment, Colloquium, Test

The student will certify his/her knowledge of basic terms and theories related to intercultural education in the final knowledge test.
