Course content
|
The course contains basic theoretical discussions of the phenomen of "leisure time" from the point of view of the humanities (history, psychology, sociology, philosophy). It is a comprehensive presentation of the approach of so-called "leisure time science", which is part and presupposition of the development of leisure time education as a "spectral science" (Opaschowski). 1. Time decisive value for history of the world and biography of an individual 2. Time in philosophical discourse 3. Time in psychological discourse 4. Transformations of society: perception of time in antiquity (the ancient polis, Plato, Aristotle) 5. Transformations of society: perception of time in the Middle Ages (Christianity: vita activa, vita contemplativa) 6. Transformations of society: perception of time in the modern period (modern concept of work/modern concept of leisure time, three interpretations of the origin of the modern concept of leisure time) 7. "Leisure time" society (quantitative negative definition of leisure time, qualitative positive definition of leisure time) 8. Characteristics of leisure time in socialist Czechoslovakia 9. Characteristics of leisure time in consumer society and contemporary views of leisure time 10. Leisure time research

|
The course contains basic theoretical discussions of the phenomen of "leisure time" from the point of view of the humanities (history, psychology, sociology, philosophy). It is a comprehensive presentation of the approach of so-called "leisure time science", which is part and presupposition of the development of leisure time education as a "spectral science" (Opaschowski). The course aims to enable students to expert reflection of leisure time. Students gain insight into the problem of expert reflection of leisure time and basic knowledge of the relevant terminology and approaches.
Students will have presumptions for reflection of the importance of leisure time and its pedagogical assessing.

The course presupposes no entrance knowledge above the requirements of the admission proceedings.
