Course content
1. Aesthetics (basic terminology- beauty, artistic picture, imagination, aesthetic attitude, aesthetics standards, social norms in relation to aesthetic norms; order-system-unit-structure; evaluating works of art, taste and kitsch, moral effects of works of art). 2. Aesthetic education (the point, aims, methods and tools, sense and principles of aesthetic education). Realisation of aesthetic education. A brief outline of aesthetic education in the Czech pedagogy. Modern trends. 3.-5. Art education - aesthetics of visual forms (basic compositional principles of artwork, golden cut), aesthetics of art depictions in time transformations, art and kitsch 6-8. Music education - Origin, subject, methods and meaning of musical aesthetics. Music features, aesthetic features and value in music. Musical aesthetics. Philosophy of music. Concert Arts and Aesthetics of Music Interpretation. 9.-11. Drama education (DE) and development of the discipline, irreplaceable significance of DE in the .personal and social development. The development of creativity, imagination and search for conflict model situations within the society and the personality. 12.-14. Literary education (aesthetic education and literature, aesthetic educational constituents, personality development, aims of aesthetic literary education, selected literary types and genres, methods and means of literary education).

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce students into the sphere of aesthetic education (teaching art education through art) which is taken as a theoretical applied discipline having a distinctive interdisciplinary feature. Its aim is a receptive and active aesthetic educational influence on students in the branches of study associated with arts (arts, music, drama, literary, film and media education). Students are expected to gain basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills and abilities from aesthetics and aesthetic education.
The student is knowledgable in the sphere of aesthetic education. The student takes aesthetic education as a theoretical applied discipline having a distinctive interdisciplinary feature. The student is able to have an active aesthetic educational effect on participants from the branches of study close to arts (arts, music, drama, literary, film and media education).
Prerequisites
No previous knowledge beyond the standard requirements for entrance examination is required.

Assessment methods and criteria
Test

Taking a final test, it is necessary to prove the knowledge of required texts to pass the test (compulsory literature).
