Course content
1. Introduction to the subject Basics of artistic expression 2-4. Artistic expression - an outline of the history and development of imaging forms; Drawing and graphics - Theory of drawing, typology of drawing - study drawing, analytical drawing, expressive drawing, fantasy drawing, dry and wet materials - division, specifications, expressive abilities; specifics and expressive possibilities of artistic graphic techniques. Regularities of graphic design. Basic graphic techniques of printing from above. Art etudes and experimentation in graphic techniques: linocut, paper cut, monotype, etc. 5-6. Painting - basics of color theory: basic, secondary, complementary colors, color valer and tone, color contrast and harmony, basics of color composition. Painting etudes and studies according to reality, painting etudes from fantasy. 7-9. Sculpture - study modeling of objects and natural objects: capture of silhouettes and proportions, expression of volumes, directions of surfaces and edges in modeling in real and enlarged scale. Conversion of a three-dimensional study into relief - reduction of heights, spatial depth, preservation of volume, gypsum casting 10-11. Photography - an outline of the history of the medium of photography and its formative influence on artistic creation; ways of thinking about photography; exercises in the basics of imaging - getting acquainted with the basic laws of photographic imaging in capturing space and its reproduction and interpretation into the field of photography; work with light, with image sharpness, with cutout and composition. Basic concept of photographic genres. Open-air exercises (landscape, architecture), studio exercises (object, portrait, figure, figural composition), reportage photography (unique event - defining the essence by photographic means, conceived set of documentary photographs). 12-14 Computer graphics - digital image and its specifics; creative creation in the environment of vector and bitmap graphic applications with interventions in the multimedia area. Graphic design - Purpose of graphic design, advertising, promotion of image manipulation; hierarchy of text, image, accented information; font, typefaces, font and its selection or combination; Graphic stylization - ornament, pictogram, typographic exercise - monogram, typographic composition, uniform visual style - logotype, business card, flyer, poster, etc.)

Learning outcomes
Art expression in art and artifacts of various historical epochs. Concepts and differences based on geographical, ethnographic, religious and ideological aspects. Art as a historical chronicle of human culture. Drawing and painting studies according to reality and imagination. Color, shape exaggeration, transformation and transposition. Study, analytical and free art composition. Basic specifics and expressive possibilities of artistic graphic techniques. The patterns of graphic design. Selected graphic techniques of printing from a height (linocut, paper-cut, monotype, etc.). Introduction to spatial creation (modeling, ceramics). Students will acquire basic knowledge and skills in the field of artistic expression.
