1. Renaissance educational paradigm 2. J.A. Comenius 3. Educational paradigm of Enlightenment 4. J.F. Herbart, herbartism, concept of "old school" 5. World reform mouvement, pedocentrism, activity school 6. Czech reform mouvement 7. Development of pedagogical accents between 1948 - 1990, history of Czech obligatory school attendence

Learning outcomes
The course aims to achieve an understanding of the basic pedagogical tendencies which have influenced the development of pedagogical thinking. It focuses on the personalities and the developmental landmarks which created the basic framework of thought that has been emphasised repeatedly throughout history. The tradition of this country is represented by the personality of J.A.Comenius as well as the period of the first republic, between the wars, when the question of schooling was first seriously tackled. This should give students a deeper identification with teaching and its roots.
