Course content
Topics of lectures and seminars: 1. Specifics of scientific research of social phenomena. 2. Outlining own research. 3. Validity and reliability of research methods. 4. Research strategy. 5. Questionnaire. 6. Interview. 7. Observation. 8. Case study. 9. Content analyses. 10. Action research. 11. Statistics data processing. 12. Interpretation of findings and conclusions of a research.

Learning outcomes
The aim of this subject is to learn the basic methods and research techniques of social phenomena and to learn the ability to apply the learned methods and techniques in practice.
Students will learn the basic methods of sociological research in the field of qualitative and quantitative research approaches. They know the theoretical justification and the possibility of application of these procedures and are able to apply them in practice. They acquire skills for planning and implementation of various types of research in the exploration of social phenomena.
