Course content
- panel discussion about the present approach to the social pedagogue's profession and his competences, possibilities of application in the praxis; - observing and evaluation of the possibilities of the applications of the particular competences in the concrete praxis

Learning activities and teaching methods
Learning outcomes
The aim of this subject is to lead students to an active development of their own careers and to understand the study as a basis for their own professional activities. At first the lessons will be held in the form of panel discussion on the current concept of the profession of a social pedagogue. Students will be encouraged to understand competences of social pedagogues and to formulate ideas about the role of a social pedagogue in practice. Full-time students will subsequently be in contact with workplaces where they can confront their ideas about the profession of a social pedagogue with realistic forms of activities in different types of organisations (e.g. Department of social affairs, Municipality, non-profit organizations, security services and so on). The evaluation of students' practice will be held in the form of final workshop where full-time students will present their lessons learned.
The students can acquire a wide range of knowledge primarily in the set of problems concerning the adults education and assessement systems. They will be well versed in the education system of the Czech Republic and they will able to make full use of the acquired knowledge in various spheres and levels of adults education and further training.

Assessment methods and criteria

Full-time students will absolve professional experience at the end of second year- summer semester which will be held in the range of 6 days spread over two weeks. Students will work on an outline of a project, in connection with the completion of the course " Andragogy", which would include the formulation of career goals at the end of the study.
