Course content
Topics: 1. Personality in the general context of a non-professional and scientific psychology, personality approach in education. 2. Basic psychological personality concepts. 3. Structure and dynamics of personality. 4. Typological approach, the theory of temperament. 5. Talents, abilities, intelligence. 6. The issue of character, attitude and will features. 7. Motivational dispositions and motivational tendencies of personality. 8. Integration, self-concept, identity. 9. Mechanisms forming personality, development, maturation and learning. 10. Socialization, basic emotional relationship, deprivation and subdeprivation. 11. Characteristics of development during childhood and adolescence. 12. Development stages in adulthood and old age. 13. Developmental theories. 14. The importance of interpersonal relationships for personality development.

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)
Learning outcomes
This subject defines psychological concept of personality, it also acquaints students with the basic terminology and the main theoretical approaches. The students will learn how to orient in the main themes of the structure and dynamics of one's personality which leads to the knowledge and understanding of the basic personality functions. It conveys the knowledge of the principles of psychological development throughout ontogeny.
Students acquire basic knowledge of personality theories, and orientation in major attitudes to personality and research methods. They learn to apply the knowledge of personality shaping and developmental aberrations, and use it for the sake of self-reflection.
