Course content
Norm and normality (norm conception, sociocultural approach, tolerance to violations of norms). Behavioural disturbances (ethopedia, characteristic features of behavioural disturbances, etiology of behavioural disturbances. Behavioural disturbances classification (dissocial, asocial and antisocial behaviour). Risk family (elemental features of a family, functional and non-functional family). Children in particular difficult situations (CAN - forms of child abuse, characteristic manifestations of CAN, impact of CAN). Allternative family care. Children aggression and hatred (bullying, types of bullying). Socially pathological phenomena of the juveniles (alcoholism, drugs, gambling). Key factors of the socially pathological phenomena. Juvenile crime and delinquency. Concrete social work with risk juveniles (approaches, forms of solution, institutional care in socially pathological phenomena). Precaution of socially pathological phenomena (importance of family and of school, creation of preventive programmes).

Learning outcomes

Students will be provided with an outline of basic information concerning social work with problematic families, they will learn about the system of substitutional family care in the sphere of institutional care, pedagogical and social methods of work with children and families and about particular institutions providing institutional care. They will also learn about diagnostic work of special education pedagogue, identification of asocial and antisocial behaviour, classification of behavioural disturbances.
