Course content
The focus of lectures and seminars: - The concept and principles of substantive criminal law, system of criminal law, interpretation of criminal laws and analogies. - Basics of criminal responsibility, the concept of criminal offence and its features. - The facts of the crime and their features. - Object of a crime, features characterizing objective aspect of crime - The perpetrator of a crime, features characterizing subjective aspect of a crime - Facts of a criminal case construction in terms of culpability, legal qualification of a deed - Circumstances excluding illegality - Developmental stages of a criminal offence - Criminal cooperation and abetting, multiplicity of criminal offence and criminality extinction - Concept and purpose of punishment, types of punishments, protective measures, criminality extinction - Substantive criminal law - special section - selected heads - Knowledge of discussed topics verification

Learning outcomes
The course focuses in mastering the theory of substantive criminal law and interpretation and application of criminal law provision. The aim of this course is the correct orientation of students in the issue and students' familiarization with the general concept of substantive criminal law and its relations to other branches of Czech law and related disciplines. During this course the question of criminal responsibility and basics of criminal proceedings will be analyzed.
The students, who have completed any course of studies in the frame of the Security-Legal Specialization, will acquire a wide range of knowledge primarily in the set of problems concerning the protection of health, life and property. They will be able to orient in the rules of law of the Czech Republic and they will be able to use the acquired knowledge in various spheres and levels of public administration.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

The student is supposed to prove his/her knowledge of the explained facts by passing a written examination with a result better than 75 percent of the maximum number of points. Its succesful passing is a requirement for oral examination.
