Course content
The study agenda contains selected modules of school management: 1. THEORY AND PRACTICE OF SCHOOL MANAGEMENT: management, basic roles and skills of a manager - decision making, organizing, organizational structures, control, elements and phases of an effective control process, ethical aspects of management, standard and strategy of or- ganization, contingency plans; 2. MANAGEMENT OF THE TEACHING PROCESS: role of the headteacher and teacher in the teaching process management, team management and cooperation within school, strategic planning, plan types, strategic analysis and the vision of the school, concept of pedagogical work and development strategy, school educational system, educational policy, curricular reform, framework educational programme and school education programme, management of changes; 3. QUALITY MANAGEMENT, EVALUATION AND SELF-EVALUATION OF SCHOOL: assessment and indicators of school quality, atmosphere at school, image of school, public relations, quality management, annual reports and school evaluation, external and internal school evaluation, self-evaluation 4. HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT: leadership, manager styles and optimal personnel management in school environment, theory of motivation, moti-vation factors, personnel management and development of human resources, 5. SYSTEM OF REWARDS AND PERSONNNEL BENEFITS: delegation of responsibilities and competences, career management, self-education and self-management, time management.

Learning outcomes
The course focuses mainly on aquisition and development of practical skills in school management. Besides lec-tures and seminars, it also includes practical learning forms (model situations, casuistry, creating of management projects, presentations of experience from schools, etc.) The study agenda contains selected modules of school management: A) THEORY AND PRACTICE OF SCHOOL MANAGEMENT: management, basic roles and skills of a manager - decision making, organizing, organizational structures, control, elements and phases of an effective control process, ethical aspects of management, standard and strategy of or- ganization, contingency plans; B) MANAGEMENT OF THE TEACHING PROCESS: role of the headteacher and teacher in the teaching process management, team management and cooperation within school, strategic planning, plan types, strategic analysis and the vision of the school, concept of pedagogical work and development strategy, school educational system, educational policy, curricular reform, framework educational programme and school education programme, management of changes; C) QUALITY MANAGEMENT, EVALUATION AND SELF-EVALUATION OF SCHOOL: assessment and indicators of school quality, atmosphere at school, image of school, public relations, quality management, annual reports and school evaluation, external and internal school evaluation, self-evaluation D) HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT: leadership, manager styles and optimal personnel management in school environment, theory of motivation, moti-vation factors, personnel management and development of human resources, system of rewards and personnel benefits, delegation of responsibilities and competences, career management, self-education and self-management, time management. The course Chapters in School Management follows the course Selected Chapters in School Legislature. Although the economic and financial aspects of school management will be not presented as an independent topic, they will be included in solution of relevant manager situations.
