Course content
1. Introduction, literature, terminology 2. Museum pedagogy, history and development 3. Museum pedagogue and his role 4. Forms and methods of museum pedagogue's work 5. Object teaching 6. Principles of museum education 7. Museum didactics 8. Additional museum didactic material 9. Basic rules for creation of activating museum pedagogical programme 10. Cooperation of museum and school 11. -14. Individual project and its presentation

Learning outcomes
This purpose of this subject is to introduce students to the modern trends of museum education and its benefits for the formal education. The goals are to familiarize students with work forms and methods of museum pedagogue and the impact of object teaching on educatees. During the course, students will learn the basic rules needed for the preparation of activating museum pedagogical programme with the additional use of didactic materials. In addition, the subject "Basics of the Museum Pedagogy" provides the possibility of utilization of museum educative programs for the work of formal education pedagogues.
After the completion of the course, student will be able to orientate oneself in the contemporary trends of museum education and its benefits for the formal education. Student will also be able to analyze the wide offer of educational programmes for specific target groups. This will be useful for the pedagogical practice and for the preparation of effective educational concepts.
Prerequisites
no C capacity of the seminar is aimed only for students of the 4th year of Bachelor fields of study focused on education (leading to Učitelství pro 2. stupeň ZŠ)

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment, Colloquium

Activity during lessons. Written project and its verbal presentation with use of selected teaching method.
