Course content
1. Origin of aesthetic as philosophical discipline. 2. AISTHÉSIS vs. NOÉSIS. 3. Beauty - a short history of the concept. 4. Beauty vs. Sublime - disruption of a hegemony of the concept of Beauty in 18. century. 5. Beauty vs. aesthetic function - a criticism of the concept of beauty in 20. century. 6. Aesthetic experience and its formalistic definitions. 7. Aesthetic experience and creativity. 8. Art - a short history of the concept. 9. Art - the ontological problems. 10. Work of art as intentional object in view of Roman Ingarden. 11. Mimesis - a short history of the concept. 12. Mimesis as principle of art. 13. Mimesis vs. expression. 14. The problems of aesthetic distance.

Learning outcomes
The course is aimed at acquainting students with the basic issues of aesthetics and its concepts. The aim of the course is to provide students with a theoretical basis for the following subjects dealing with aesthetic education of preschool children.
Student will acquire the basic orientation in the field of modern aestetic theories. He/she shall comprehend interrelations between notions (ideas), which formed the subject of this discipline. Emphasis is placed on the possibility of using these terms for aesthetic education.
