Course content
Pedagogics, its structure and its relationship to other social sciences. Basic categories of pedagogy and changes of their contents in the historical development. J. A. Komensk7, J. J. Rouseau and others - their pedagogical opinions. Interpretation on upbringing in pedagogical alternatives of 20th century. Some topics of teacher profession [professional ethics, creativity, competence etc.]. Education for 21st century - vision and actual appearance of educational projects.

Learning outcomes
This discipline deals with the categorial system and with the subject of pedagogy and its relation to other social studies. Then the place of preprimary education in the structure of pedagogical disciplines is dealt with. Then the discipline treats of the characterization of education as the basic pedagogical category; the concise survey of a development of pedagogical thinking, opinions on educational aims and a conception of a man in the educational action in historical context; a contribution of alternative approaches to education; some questions from pedeutology / delimination of educational role in universal way and specific role of a teacher at nursery school; changes in the content of lesson plannings in educational context and educational vision in 21st century.
The student gets competences in understanding the contents of fundamental pedagogical terms. It is especially the term "upbringing". The education can be seen in historical and social connections. He /she is trained in application of pedagogical knowledge for his/her own practice.

Participation in consultations. Continuous studying recommended literature. Treating an abstract of a read up professional book. Treating a seminar paper with application of his/her own experience gained during his/her pedagogical activity.
