Learning outcomes
The aim of the seminar is to familiarize its students with various expressions of problem behaviors in elementary schools. Important distinction will be made between problem behaviors and behavioral disorders. In addition, part of the seminar will be an introduction to institutions that assist schools in the treatment of "problematic" children.
The students will learn to understand the wide scope of behaviour problems. They will learn to distinguish between children at risk to develop behaviour disorders and children who actually suffer from behaviour disorders. During the classes, we will look together for possible methods of preventive measures in schools and outside of schools. Part of the seminar will be an exploration of possible strategies for interviews with "problem" children's parents.
