Course content
Contents of lectures: 1st Conception, structure and function of pedagogy. The basic pedagogical terms: education, upbringing, education, education, educant, educator 2nd Pedagogical ideas of J. A. Komenský 3rd Pedagogical ideas of Rousseau, Pestalozzi 4th Pedagogical ideas of Herbart and his followers) 5th Pedocentrismus, pragmatism, Dewey, Kilpatrick. Reformative pedagogy in ČSR after 1918 6th Classical alternative schools, modern alternative schools 7th Czech educational system. Transformation of the Czech school after 1989. Curriculum. Significant educational documents (White Paper, RVP). 8th The basic terms and ideas from the pedeutologie: teaching as a profession, profession standard, competences of teachers, pedagogical skills of teachers, professional ethics

Learning outcomes
The aim of the lectures is describe the basic pedagogical disciplines, pedagogical conceptions, the most important pedagogical theories in the development of pedagogy, the educational transformation of the Czech educational system after 1989 and educational institutions.
The aim of course is to establish by students' knowledges in the branch of the structure and function of pedagogy. At the end of this course the student will be able to describe the basic pedagogical conceptions and explain the structure of pedagogy.

The oral exam will be from lectures and recommended literature.
