Course content
Conception of primary education (basic theoretical possibilities of transformation after 1990), primary education in European dimesion (Delors), principles of school humanization, psycho-didactic principles of new classes conception as child-oriented classes. Basic curriculum documents (White Paper, State curriculum, terms: key competencies, expected outputs, formulation of curriculum content, cross-cutting themes) Didactics, term definition, characteristics of basic didactic conceptions (in context) Teaching and various theories of its interpretation (in relation to didactic conceptions), definition of term and content of classes, basic scheme of educational process- constructivist conception of classes (teaching based on constructivist principles x transmissive approach to teaching), relationship between teacher and pupils within classes (teacher-oriented - child-oriented) Learning process as process of active learning, conditions of learning process, phases of effective learning, acquisition of knowledge in the learning process, activity and experiential learning orientation Educational objectives, term definition, areas of educational objectives (domains), principles of teaching objective formulation, Bloom's taxonomy of cognitive and affective objectives Individualization and differenciation of classes (in relation to humanistic, child-oriented classes) Methods of teaching, term definition, method in relation to teaching, variability in use of methods spectrum as one of the ways for classes individualization fulfilment. Classification of methods, characteristics of chosen methods and their evaluation in relation to current primary education requirements. Activising teaching methods (heuristic methods, problem-solving methods) Organizational forms of teaching (complex educational methods), term definition, limits of frontal teaching, group and cooperative teaching Project teaching, integrated thematic teaching (principles of ITT according to Kovaliková - Kovalikova's model, use of ITT within Začít spolu). Principles of project creation at primary school.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Monitoring, Projection, Activating (simulations, games, drama)
Learning outcomes
The course covers and interconnects topics of pedagogy, general didactics, methodology of education, and professional practice. The aim of the course is to provide teachers with current topics of pedagogy and general didactics with emphasis on contemporary (child's oriented) conception, which are related to teacher's pedagogical work in classroom and emphasize educational aspect of teacher's profession. This complexly conceived topic becomes one of the preconditions for understanding of educational and teaching process, of teacher's role, and is basis for content continuity of professional didactics.
Orientation in curriculum documents, knowledge of conceptions, understanding of new classes conception principles, skill of learning objectives formulation, ability of use of suitable methods and educational forms with emphasis on activising educational methods and approaches, skill of assessment of pupils' activity, development of self-reflection ability, ability to analyze learning process.
