Course content
First block aims to introduce students to, for them new, university surroundings, which is characterized by certain specifics (addressing, way of study, ..), with which students should be continuously familiarized 1. What university study means, how it differs from high school study 2. Teacher training specifics 3. What are expectations towards university students 4. How to work with reference books, how to write specialized text 5. How to use library (visit to university library) Second block aims to familiarize students with concept of education in detail, which is desired, with aim, where its development should proceed. It should clearly define framework, in which student can think about his future profession, his future occupation, mission. 1. What is the mission of current school? (widely socialization-oriented, focusing on personality approach). It is closely linked to the question. WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A TEACHER? WHICH PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS ARE NECESSARY? (emphasis on attitudes and values of future teachers). Question of teacher's competencies. 2. CURRENT CONCEPT OF PRIMARY SCHOOL in curriculum documents ( White paper, State curriculum). In any case it is not concerned with the content in its breadth, but with understanding of initial position of these documents and passages relating to primary school. 3. Inspirational sources of current concept of education (humanistic pedagogy and psychology, cognitive and constructivist concept, ecological or contextual orientation, positive psychology). 4. Delors's concept of four pillars of education in context of content and objectives

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Activating (simulations, games, drama)
Learning outcomes
First block aims to introduce students to, for them new, university surroundings, which is characterized by certain specifics (addressing, way of study, ..), with which students should be continuously familiarized. Second block aims to familiarize students with concept of education in detail, which is desired, with aim, where its development should proceed. It should clearly define framework, in which student can think about his future profession, his future occupation, mission.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment, Seminar work

Seminar paper on topic of Pojetí 1. stupně ZŠ (Concept of primary school) in the extent of 3 pages, in which student demonstrates the ability to work witt reference books; manages to express his opinion.
