Course content
Educational measures and support in the integration/inclusion of handicapped and disabled children (most frequent movement disorders or defects and impairments in pre-school children; compensational and supportive measures; special methods, procedures and ways of work; compensational and rehabilitation aids; supportive service of an assistent; modification of an individual study programme; other pedagogical and psychological services). Educational measures and support in the integration/inclusion of children suffering from visual handicap (description and specification of some areas of visually handicapped children; compensational senses; compensational and supportive measures in the children´s education). Educational measures and support in the integration/inclusion of children suffering from hearing impairment (terminological determination of the theme; aetiology; symptomatology; description and specification of some areas of children with impaired hearing; compensational and supportive measures in the education of children, pupils and students suffering from hearing impairment). Educational measures and support in the integration/inclusion of children and pupils suffering from impaired communication (description and specification of some areas of children with impaired communication; compensational and supportive measures in the children´s education) Educational measures and support in the integration/inclusion of mentally handicapped children (description and specification of some areas of mentally handicapped children; compensational and supportive measures in the education of mentally handicapped children).

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to familiarise students with the most frequent handicaps that may occur in the children in kindergarten to help them understand the special needs of these children and be informed about the battery of the most common compensational and supportive measures.
Understanding the relevant themes, acquiring elementary diagnostical and re-educational skills.
Prerequisites
A good grasp of the basic concept of special pedagogy.

Combined exam

Casuistry of a child with a particular handicap including a recommendation of suportive and compensational measures.
