Course content
The content of the lectures: - The ethos and ethics. - The concept of professional ethics. - Professional codes of self-regulation. - Questions concerning the essence of man - Basic terms concerning ethics - Attitude of man towards himself and towards his environment - Attitudes of man towards life - Problems connected with working in helping professions - Man and transcendent

Learning outcomes
The course is focused on general level of basic terms, questions and problems of ethics. It respects holistic view of man, integrity of biological, psychical and spiritual dimensions. It treats with the relationship of the person towards his/her own personality (self-concept), towards his/her environment but also the place of man in the environment. The course will deal with problematics of the professional identity and professional ethics (ethics codex). At platform of so called helping professions, there are accepted mainly those professions which are directly related to the educational process and social work. Dangers that can occur when working at these positions will be also mentioned.
Basic orientation in the problematics of professional identity and ethics directly associated with working in helping professions including possible risks related to these professions.

Assessment methods and criteria
Test

Students should understand the context of the given problematics, they should be able to orientate in it including orientation in recommended bibliography. An analysis of ethic code of a selected profession.
