Course content
1. Introduction, basic concepts, what is disorder, dysfunction vs. afunction, symptom vs. syndrome 2. History of Learning Disabilities 3. Theory of LD, psychological approach, neurobiological approach, markers 4. (continued) 5. ADHD, terminology, history, symptomatology 6. ADHD, diagnostics, remedy 7. Dyslexia, dysorthographia, dysgraphia, dysgramatism, dyspraxia, dyspinxia, dyscalculia: basic concenpt, symptomatology 8. (continued): theory, typology 9. (continued): diagnostics 10. - 11. (continued): remedy, its principles, and methods, atmosphere 12. Gerstmann´s syndrome, Tourette´s syndrome 13. Cooperation with family and counselling center 14. Legal norms, further teacher´s education in the field of LD

Learning outcomes
a) to achieve basic theoretical frame of reference b) to master elementary diagnostic skills c) to master communication with professional psychological services and institutions designed for learning disabled children d) to master elementary remedial methods and skills e) to achieve elementary legal norms concerning learning disabled children. The course Learning disabilities is designed for future teachers of elementary schools.
