Course content
Topics: 1. Terminology: deprivation syndrome and symptomatology, hospitalism, emotional deficiency, deprivation and subdeprivation 2. Important personas in the field (Z. Matějíček, J. Bowlby, R. Spitz, H. Harlow, M Ainsworthová, P. Crittendenová, a. Schore) 3. Deprivation research, its methods, projects ex-post facto, experiments 4. Stimulus poor environment for an individual development, significance of the emotional stimuli for the immune system, intelligence or morality 5. Crisis or sensitive period in ontogenesis; comparison of animal development and human development 6. Emotional attachment - John Bowlby and his successors 7. Supplementary neuropsychological and neuropsychiatric view 8. Recognition of deprivation processes and their treatment and resocialization

Learning outcomes
The aim of this subject is to acquaint students with the role of deprivation syndrome on personality development.
Student has deeper knowledge of deprivation syndrome and its significance for the personality development. He knows the basic theories and researches in terms of this area and can use the acquired knowledge in their own work.
