Course content
- The specifics of communication with children; childhood memories; - Maslow´s hiearchy of needs in contemporary kindergarten practice - the risks of routine stereotypes; - respectful approach as a precondition of effective functional communication; - motivation - appreciation; - punishments and rewards; - non-effective methods (mistakes in communication with children) + effective methods; - substituting effective methods for non-effective ones; - empathic response; - I statement + conflict solutions; - establishing habits + feedback; - repetition with presentation + practice in situations; - test; - explaining the most frequent mistakes in the test.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Activating (simulations, games, drama)
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to show students the way to respectful partner communication with the child, based on fulfilling the child´s needs according to Maslow´s hiearchy of needs, with the accent on freeing from routine stereotypes.
The student can differentiate between effective and non-effective communicative techniques and employ the former.
