Course content
Contents: 1-3) Child with disability (client), physical (motor) disability - disability from the perspective of ICD - ICFDH (impairment, disability, restricted participation) - most frequent types of physical disability - ICP and related disability - neuromuscular diseases - post-injury conditions - orthopaedic and other somatic diseases - combined diseases, their diagnostics and treatment 4-5) Psychological and social aspects of care for child with disability (persons) - process of coping of parents with birth of a child with disability and the family's acceptance of the child, ethical consequences - social consequences of physical (motor) disability 5-6) Complex system of rehabilitation (comprehensive rehabilitation - CRS) - therapeutic means - pedagogical means - social means - working means 6-8) Integration (inclusion) of physically persons with disability (children, pupils and students, inclusive education - Integration, inclusion - possibilities and reality - problems of integration (inclusion) of physically persons with disability - possibilities of inclusive education and upbringing of physically children with disability 10-13) Possibilities of upbringing and education within somatopedics interdisciplinary relationships of timely intervention - educational program of nursery school for physically children with disability - educational program of preparatory class of special elementary school - educational program of elementary school and practical elementary school for pupils with physical disability - educational program of special elementary school for pupils with physical disability - rehabilitation educational program of special elementary school for pupils with physical disability - educational program of secondary school for students with disability (Grammar Schools, High Schools).

Learning outcomes
Goals: - familiarize the students with issues of physical (motor) handicap - emphasize the significance of pedagogical means within complete system of rehabilitation of physically (motor) handicapped persons (somatopedics), rehabilitation as pedagogical phenomenon - specify the possibilities of inclusive education of physically (motor) handicapped children, pupils and students - support understanding of rehabilitation process as multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary activity of professionals (USR) - pay attention to methodology of upbringing and education of physically (motor) handicapped persons and to possibilities of compensation of motor handicap (compensation and rehabilitation aids) etc.
Capabilities: The subject deals particularly with the possibilities of upbringing and education of physically (motor) handicapped persons from early care or timely intervention to secondary school study. It pays attention to health handicap with stress on broad range of physical (motor) handicaps and related disorders (so called combined handicaps). Extraordinary attention is paid to complete system of physically handicapped persons, accentuating particularly the possibilities of their education ? be it in form of inclusive education (integration in natural social environment) or in schools for physically handicapped persons. Attention is further paid to methodology of upbringing and education of physically (motor) handicapped persons and to possibilities of compensation of motor handicap (compensation and rehabilitation aids) etc.

Preconditions: Grasp of basic somatopedical issues, completion of the subject of "Somatopedics"

Student performance assessment, Interview, Test, Seminar work

Requirements: For a credit - demonstration of knowledge of concepts and issues of somatopedics (particularly the possibilities and method of education of physically, i.e. motor handicapped persons) - understanding of relationships and connections among individual disciplines of special pedagogy(interdisciplinary relationships) - knowledge of professional literature - ability to apply knowledge and competence in practice - written form of the test
