Course content
- Block School Experience will be undertaken over a span of three weeks for six hours a day in the student´s home town if possible (and approved by the school experience guarantor); - it will include planning pedagogical activities (preparing the student´s educational procedures; an outline of the activities; educational methods and forms; teaching and compensatory aids; assessment); - sitting in on classes, also in other classes or in the related special needs centre (keeping observational records the will be included in the school experience diary); - evaluating the educational process; - analysing school experience with the assistance of the training teacher, resident of the special kindergarten (the student will complete a report on the Block School Experience, including the teacher trainer´s assessment of the trainee´s work).

Learning outcomes
The aim of school experience is to enable students to gain a deeper understanding of the work in a chosen special kindergarten, the other of the two eligible specialism in special pedagogy ( the third-year student takes two optional subjects in special pedagogy), with emphasis on the student´s immediate special pedagogical contact with children who have special educational needs under the supervision of the appointed teacher at the special kindergarten (teacher trainer).
Basic skills in the planning and implementation of educational and diagnostic procedures and special educational activities.

A broad understanding of basic special pedagogy
KPES/WWXB1 and KPES/WWXB2 and KPES/WXXB3

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment, Systematic student observation, Student portfolio analysis

Active participation; producing a casuistry; keeping an experience log.
