Course content
- School experience will be undertaken in the student´s home town if possible (and approved by the school experience guarantor); - it will include planning pedagogical activities (preparing the student´s educational procedures; an outline of the activities; educational methods and forms; teaching and compensatory aids; assessment); - sitting in on classes, also in other classes or in the related special needs centre (keeping observational records the will be included in the school experience diary); - evaluating the educational process; - analysing school experience with the assistance of the training teacher, resident of the special kindergarten (the student will complete a report on the Block School Experience, including the teacher trainer´s assessment of the trainee´s work).

Learning outcomes
This school experience is intended to help students gain a valuable insight into work at a particular special kindergarten, according to their specialism chosen in special pedagogy (the third-year students take two optional subjects in special pedagogy), with strong emphasis on the student´s immediate special pedagogical contact with children who have special educational needs under the supervision of the appointed teacher at the special kindergarten (teacher trainer).
Basic skills in the planning, diagnostics and implementation of remedial procedures for children with specific educational needs.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment, Systematic student observation, Student portfolio analysis

Active participation; producing a casuistry; keeping an experience log; completing the case study of a particular child.
