Course content
The course focuses on basic issues and problems of ethics in psychological practice and research as well as on helping as part of the profession. Main topics: 1. Key ethical issues in psychology - ethical principles of working with people in psychological practice and research Basic ethical principles for psychological work (respect, competence, responsibility and integrity), Codes of ethics ((BPA, APA, CMPS), ethics as a commitment. 2. Ethics in psychological research - basic principles, ethics committees and their role Basic procedures to ensure ethical approach in research (Informed consent: format, content difficult aspects) Specific ethical issues in research on child and school populations (+families and schools), vulnerable groups or animals. 3. Ethical aspects of psychodiagnostic work Ethics in the different stages of the diagnostic process Use and distribution of psdg. tests Communication of psdg. test results Ethical issues of computer or internet-assisted forms of psdg. tests 4. Basic topics of publication ethics Ethics in publishing and scientific work Basic principles of ethical handling of resources for professional and publishing activities How to create research publications (thesis project) and maintain respect for the ethical principles of psychological work Authorship and intellectual property

Learning outcomes
The course aims to deepen knowledge of the ethical principles in psychological research and psychological professional practice. Ethics of psychological research is discussed for the academic diploma research practice related to diploma thesis preparation. This course aims to broaden the sensitivity to apply the knowledge of psychological ethics in specific situations of the psychology profession.

Prerequisites
The prerequisite for fulfilling the course is at least basic familiarity with the issues of psychological ethics - at the level of undergraduate studies

A prerequisite for obtaining course credit is active participation in seminars and the completion of a written analysis of a selected ethical dilemma (case study / own research project). If students are unable to meet the minimum attendance requirement of 75%, they are required to complete an alternative assignment; its specification will be published in MS Teams.
