Course content
The lectures cover mainly the following topics: 1. Ancient and medieval psychological concepts 2. Modern psychological concepts and influences of other scientific disciplines 3. Formation of scientific and applied psychology 4. Structuralism and functionalism 5. Psychodynamic approaches 6. Behaviorism and non-behaviorism 7. Gestaltism and neo-gestaltism 8. Phenomenological and existential approaches 9. Humanistic psychology 10. Cognitive psychology 11. Other psychological approaches

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Demonstration
Learning outcomes
The course introduces the philosophical foundations of psychology and its development from the second half of the 19th century to the present. The subject of interest is individual psychological directions and their representatives, as well as contexts of changes in psychological paradigms.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

Orientation in the development of psychological thinking, the ability to analyze and compare the various psychological approaches. Research on key periods and important personalities in the history of psychology, including their presentation. Test and combined exam.
