Learning outcomes
|
The subject is focused on the presentation of the psychology for students of social sciences programmes, related interdisciplinary programmes, and other students who want to get an insight into contemporary psychological research and praxis. Attention is paid to the current shape of psychological science, including interdisciplinary perspective (e.g. its links to biology, sociology, medicine, philosophy, etc.). The main thematic areas are: (1) Psychology as a science, (2) Biological and evolutionary perspective of psychology, (3) Personality psychology, (4) Social psychology, and (5) Selected topics in psychology. NOTE: THE COURSE IS TAUGHT IN ENGLISH AND IS INTENDED FOR ERASMUS STUDENTS AND STUDENTS OF OTHER FACULTIES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH BOHEMIA. THE COURSE IS NOT INTENDED FOR REGULAR STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF EDUCATION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH BOHEMIA.
Students will acquire basic orientation in selected fields of psychology and psychological research. The aim of the course is also to develop functional psychological literacy and critical thinking.
