Course content
1. Terminology, personality as a subject of psychological study, methods and problems, history 2. Biological vs. socio-cultural determinants, genotype vs. phenotype, heredity vs. heritability 3. Altruism vs. egoism, deprivation, deviation from the normality 4. Psychoanalysis (Freud) 5. Transactional analysis (Berne) 6. Adler´s psychology: "Gemeinschaftsgefühl", its pathology 7. Frankl´s psychology: finding of sense 8. Lewin´s theory of field 9. Eysenck vs. Kagan: the genotype - environment interaction 10. Development, its stages. Piaget: cognitive vs. moral development 11. Moral development after Kolhberg 12. Ericson: epigenetic principle 13. Nation´s personality, modal personality, finding of sense 14. ADHD: frequent deviation from normal development in human beings

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Demonstration, Projection
Learning outcomes
Basic theoretical concepts and methodological problems. Biological and socio-cultural determinants. Psychoanalysis, transactional analysis (Freud, Berne). Trait theory (Allport). Humanistic orientation, finding of sense (Frankl, Maslow). Development of personality. Cognitive development a moral development (Piaget, Kohlberg). Phases of development, a through-life development (Ericson). The course is designed for future teachers of nursery institutions, primary schools, secondary schools, and high schools. The course is modified after students´professional interests, e.g. students preparing for the nursery care instistutions are informed in detail with psychic development of the preschool child.
Basic knowledge in theory of personality and its development (Freud, Adler, Frankl, Lewin, Eysenck, Kagan, Piaget, Ericsson, Kohlberg, Matějček), diagnostic approach, and possibilities of intervention from the point of view of the teacher.
