Course content
1. Educational Psychology - the state of Art 2. Learning - some theories of learning 3. Determinants of school achievement, personality of teacher 4. Gifted child 5. Classroom expectations (self-fulfilling prophecy, Pygmalion in the classroom, causal attributions, influencing school achievements with handicaps students 6. Social psychological aspects of the classroom (Group process. Influence of student-student interaction on school outcomes) 7. Psychological specificity of educational methods 8. Creativity in the classroom 9. Motivation and volition in schools 10. Learned helplessness and learned optimisms 11. Conflict, stress, frustration, positive and negative emotions in the classrooms 12. Frequent mental disorders (diseases), asocial and antisocial manifestation (behavior) 13. Learning from text, learning from symbolical material 14. Classroom climate, school climate

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic theoretical aspects of pedagogical and school psychology. Teaching is divided into basic subjects: - Educational psychology - School psychology - Personality of the pupil and the teacher - Motivation in teaching, learning outcomes - Socio-psychological aspects in the school environment - Teaching practice from the point of view of psychology Part of the subject is also an analysis of practical aspects of contemporary teaching from the point of view of psychological knowledge, problematic aspects connected with the teacher's activity and communication with the pupil.
Student have good orientation in school and educational psychology topics and solid knowledge related to processes of learning and teaching, social relations in classroom and school and student and teacher personality variables. Students are able to use this knowledge in work with special needs students; in social groups in class and school. Students should be able to apply essential diagnostic (assessment) methods that could be used by the teachers. They are able to reflect their professional identity.
