Course content
1. Educational Psychology - the state of Art 2. Learning - some theories of learning 3. Determinants of school achievement, personality of teacher 4. Gifted child 5. Classroom expectations (self-fulfilling prophecy, Pygmalion in the classroom, causal attributions, influencing school achievements with handicaps students 6. Social psychological aspects of the classroom (Group process. Influence of student-student interaction on school outcomes) 7. Psychological specificity of educational methods 8. Creativity in the classroom 9. Motivation and volition in schools 10. Learned helplessness and learned optimisms 11. Conflict, stress, frustration, positive and negative emotions in the classrooms 12. Frequent mental disorders (diseases), asocial and antisocial manifestation (behavior) 13. Learning from text, learning from symbolical material 14. Classroom climate, school climate

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Written action (comprehensive tests, clauses), Work activities (workshops)
Learning outcomes
The following topic will be included. Educational Psychology its current state. Relation of EP to counseling psychology and school psychology. Learning (some theories), kinds (sorts) of learning, learning regularities. Personality of teacher and his/her competencies. Creating of educational and social skills. Gifted children and their development (growth). Expectancy in the classroom (self-fulfilling prophecy, pygmalion, causal attribution, preferential attitudes, etc.). Negative influence of handicaps (mistakes) on the study results, no effective study progress, decreased motivation, wrong language code. Classroom as a social group (assessment I-P relations and the classroom climate). Psychological basis of the educational methods. Psychological aspects of creativity and its facilitation. Motivation and volition. Learned helplessness and learned optimism. Anxiety, stress and coping. Asocial and antisocial manifestations. Family and education. Classroom climate. School climate.
Student should be able to orient themselves in school and educational psychology; students should be able to manage Essentials diagnostic (assessment) tools provided for the teachers of elementary/secondary/high school.
