Course content
1. Personality as a term of layman and scientific psychology, personality-centered approach in education and childcare. 2. Basic concepts of personality 3. Biological and socio-cultural determinants, genotype vs. fenotype. 4. Personaliy structure and dynamics. 5. Typological approach, dispositional approach. 6. Temperament, theory of temperament. 7. Abilities, capacities, inteligence, creativity. 8. Character problematics, dispositions of attitude and will. 9. Motivational dispositions and tendencies of personality. 10. Internal personality image, conscience, experience, selfhood. 11. Socialization of personality, basic emotional relationship, deprivation and subdeprivation. 12. Meaning of psychology in vocations based on work with people, options of diagnostics and intervention.

Learning outcomes
The subject shows the framework of personality psychology, teaches essential terminology and major theoretical aproaches. Students gain knowledge of the topics of personality structure and dynamics, which should enlarge their understandingof basic personality functions in the life of an individual. The subject teaches methods and options of personality research.
Students have basic knowledge of personality theory and its evolution, they can discern major attitudes to personality and methods of examining. They can use knowledge of personality and shaping of it in practical circumstances and also to develop self-understanding

Student performance assessment, Seminar work

Seminar work with a given topic. Check-up during semester and at the final exam.
