Course content
1. The scence of psychology. Main psychological approaches. 2. Determints of humen psyche. Nature and nurture. 3. Cognitive processes I (perception, mental representation, learning, memory) 4. Cognitive processes II (attention, memory, thinking and language) 5. Emotional, motivational and volitional processes. 6. Psychology of the personality. Dynamics and structure of the personality. 7. Temperament, typology, character, self-regulation. 8. Forming of the personality. Methods of personality assessment. 9. Psychic development, developmental periods. 10. Psychic peculiarities of adolescents.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Work activities (workshops)
Learning outcomes
Introductory psychological course aiming at presenting basic terminology and main approaches to psychology. brief summary of basic knowledge of psychological processes with accent on cognition. Psychology as a science. Biological and socio cultural determinants of the psyche. Sensation and perception. Imagination. Consciousness and altered states of consciousness. Learning. Memory. Thinking and language. Abilities and intelligence. Emotions and motivation. Mutual relations of psychic processes, psychic regulation.
The student has basic knowledge of psychic processes and is able to apply it for understanding of everyday situations.
