Course content
The development of pedagogical thinking and educational paradigms. Possibilities and limits of education and its social determination. Knowledge society, access to education and the extension of education. Trends in education, priorities, benefits and risks. Selected problems of education at different educational levels with regard to tertiary education. Education policy at home and abroad; comparison, problems, evaluation, specific national school systems. The international survey of educational outcomes; the evaluation procedures and accontability of the educational institutions; research procedures and their limits, interpretation of findings. Changes of the current school and teachers. Reforms of educational content.

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book)
Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to introduce students to the wider educational context of educational reality, to synthesize the current sub-themes of pedagogical sub-disciplines and grab them at the application level to natural science education. The course deals with the development, current issues and current trends in education. It assesses the historical, social and political context in relation to the educational prospects of the society. The benefits and risks of specific interventions of educational policy are critically analyzed.
Students will be able to perform critical analysis of current events in the development of educational policy and comparative context.
Prerequisites
Knowledge of basic education courses at university (general education, philosophy of education, comparative education).

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined exam

Knowledge of terminology and an ability to understand educational phenomena, based on research findings add value to the current critical issues of educational policy with the application of the natural learning.
