Course content
Lecture topics: 1.-2. European integration process International organisation. The EU as a transnational organization. The founding treaties of the EU. Changes to primary law. EU enlargement process. 3.-5. Institutional law of the EU 7 EU institutions and other bodies. Decision-making process in the EU. European Council. European Parliament. European Commission. Advice. European central bank. Court of Auditors. Court of Justice of the EU. Court of Justice. Tribunal. 6. Sources of Union law and legislation Primary legislation. Amendments to the founding treaties of the EU. Secondary legislation (regulations, directives, decisions, recommendations and opinions). International contracts. General principles. Formal requirements of EU acts. Non-legislative legal acts. 7. Economic and monetary policy of the EU 8. Free trade zones and customs unions 9. Theoretical aspects of the selected topic as a basis for a case study. 10. Classification of international law. International public law. Transnational law. International private law. Relations between international, EU and national law. 11.- 12. Law of international trade National regulations. International contracts. Union standards. 13. International obligation commercial law Purchase contract in international trade. The exercises copy the content of the lectures.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to provide students with a basic orientation in the system of international law and the law of the European Union, their functioning and mutual interdependence. The course introduces students to the basics of public, private and institutional EU law. International law is focused mainly on private law aspects and international trade law. All this against the background of current economic topics and challenges. During the semester, students will work on tasks assigned by the teacher.

Oral examination, Test

Credit requirements: - Participation in seminars - a maximum of two absences - Processing tasks according to the teacher's requirements at the seminars - 2 credit tests Credits will be awarded not earlier than 14 days before the end of the semester in accordance with the measure of Dean No. 124/2017 Article 15. Examination requirements: The exam is oral. The correctness of the responses to the randomly selected topic is evaluated. The list of topics are available in MOODLE. The examinations will be written 3 weeks before the beginning of the examination period in accordance with the measure of Dean No. 124/2017 Article 15.
