Course content
Lectures: 1. Bodies and authorities in the field of Environmental management; 2. Functions and powers of particular places of environmental protection; 3. International agreements and organization in the field of environmental management; 4. Territorial landscape and nature protection; 5. Essential components of environmental management and related legal regulations; 6. Act on Environmental management; 7. Act on environmental and landscape protection; 8. Exercise of legal regulations upon environmental impact assessment (EIA, SEA) ; 9. Approximation of EU environmental legislation into the legislation of the Czech Republic; 10. Economic aspects of environmental protection; Seminars: Workshops will follow the lectured topics, and will be in a discussion format, where the current problems from real life are solved. 1. Administrative Procedural Law in practice; 2. International agreements in the area of environmental management accepted by the Czech Republic; 3. Problem solving in the area of territorial landscape and nature protection; 4. Breach of Environmental law in particular cases; 5. Breach of Environmental law and landscape protection in particular cases; 6. Practical knowledge with EIA and SEA; 7. Penalties imposed for particular offences in the field of environmental protection and their rationalization by students;

Learning outcomes
The subject brings essential identification of horizontal legal regulations, laws related to particular components of environment (components of environmental protection, etc.), with particular additional implementing regulations related to component laws as well as international legal regulations in environmental protection contributing to sustainable landscape development.
The student shall obtain a complete overview of environmental protection regulations, principles, methods, tools, and goals of environmental protection in general. An emphasis upon protection of particular components of environment (air, water, soil) and ecosystems (forest, nature and landscape), protection against special hazardous sources (wastes, chemicals, ionizing radiation, etc.) and upon protection in exposed areas of human activity (mining, transportation, power industry, agriculture) will be applied. The students will also acquire knowledge about landscape planning and assessment of environmental impact (SEA, EIA).

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

Credit Requirements: 90% participation on seminars, active cooperation on seminars. Credits will be awarded not earlier than 14 days before the end of the semester in accordance with the measure of Dean No. 124/2017 Article 15. Examination Requirements: Written test and oral examination. The examinations will be written 3 weeks before the beginning of the examination period in accordance with the measure of Dean No. 124/2017 Article 15.
