Course content
Lecture Topics: 1. Introduction. 2. Regional management and territorial development. 3. Methodology of regional development. 4. Main aspects of the creation of the European integration process in the context of the development of regional policy, regional disparities and geopolitical development. 5. Programming in the context of the system of strategic documents of the Czech Republic and the EU. 6. Development programs of municipalities, cities and regions. 7. Spatial planning. 8. Territorial relations of towns and villages and specifics of their development management. 9. Forms of cooperation of municipalities. 10. Selected areas of regional policy interest. Seminars: 1. Regional management - processing of general characteristics of the municipality from the perspective of regional management 2. Regional analysis - analysis of the municipality - SWOT, GIS 3. Methodology of regional development, regional policy and spatial planning - preparation of the zoning plan in the context of regional planning 4. Conceptual documents - Outlook and processing and completion of the questionnaire 5. Development programs of municipalities, cities and regions - Identify and describe strategic documents for a selected community - what they contain, priorities, areas of support 6. Spatial planning - Description of the location of the village, a new concept for the village - to make the village more attractive for residents and potential visitors 7. Urbanization, suburbanization and desurbanization - processing of urbanization process of selected municipality - processing of the urbanization process on the basis of an economic approach, demographic, social perspective and administrative point of view 8. Forms of cooperation of municipalities - analysis of community involvement - LAG, microregion, cross-border cooperation 9. Selected areas of regional policy interest - regional marketing - making the municipality and its services more attractive; web of the municipality, how to improve and what to add, way of notification 10. - 14. Presentation of seminary works.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to explain concepts related to regional management and to analyze relations and management tools for reducing interregional differences in the Czech Republic and the EU. Application of management basics and management theories to regional management. Management tools to reduce interregional differences. Systems of evaluation of socio-economic, natural, demographic and other conditions of regions. Management methods affecting the exploitation of the region's potential and future use of EU structural funds. Principles of regional policy in the Czech Republic. Regional Management Legislation. Regional management tools for reducing interregional differences in the EU.
The objective of the study subject is to give the students a basic theoretical and practical approaches for the management of the economic and social development of the regions.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, Seminar work

Credit Requirements: Active presentation of seminary work during exercises and 80% attendance at seminaries must be fulfilled. Examination Requirements: During the examination, the student demonstrates knowledge of regional management and the functioning of EU cohesion policy at both the program and project level.
