Course content
Lecture topics: 1. Introduction to law 2. European Union law 3. Constitutional law, structure of state power 4. Basic concepts of administrative law, territorial administrative divisions, public administration bodies and territorial self-governments, administrative proceedings, legal liability, offenses 5. Civil law, concept, subject, system, persons, representation, legal action, statute of limitations, preclusion, entrepreneur 6. Absolute property rights - possession, ownership, co-ownership, real rights to other people's things 7. Relative property rights - obligation relationships and their creation, changes and termination of obligations, security of obligations, contracts concluded with the consumer 8. Relative property rights - obligations from legal negotiations - purchase, rent, work, tour, transportation of a person 9. Relative property rights - liabilities from torts, unjust enrichment 10. Basics of labor law I. - creation and termination of an employment relationship 11. Basics of labor law II. - agreements on work performed outside the employment relationship 12. Civil court proceedings, special court proceedings, insolvency proceedings and administrative court proceedings - course of court proceedings 13. Ordinary and extraordinary remedies in court proceedings, enforcement of decisions Exercises: 1. Legal aspects of the functioning of higher education, sources of EU law and their creation 2. Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms 3. Organization of the public administration of the Czech Republic 4. Administrative proceedings, administrative decisions, offences 5. Introduction to private law, persons, legal facts, statute of limitations, preclusion 6. Creation and termination of ownership rights, co-ownership, building rights, easements, liens 7. Contractual process, creation of obligations, securing and termination of obligations 8. Individual contract types 9. Liabilities from torts 10. Employment contract, termination 11. Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide students with a basic orientation in the legal system of the Czech Republic/EU and some basic legal institutes. The course introduces students to the basics of public law and private law. During the semester, students will work on tasks assigned by the teacher in seminars.
Students understand the basic principles of the legal system of the Czech Republic, focusing in the legal order of the Czech Republic, are able to write a contract of employment, legal action and transfer of property.
Prerequisites
Course is subject to high school knowledge of the law.

Credit requirements: Participation in exercises (max. 3 absences) Processing tasks according to the teacher's requirements at the seminars Credit test Credits will be awarded no earlier than 14 days before the end of the semester in accordance with Dean's Order No. 124/2017, Article 15. Exam requirements: After the award of credit - oral form (in the scope of lectures and seminars) Exams will be announced 3 weeks before the start of the exam period in accordance with Dean's Order No. 124/2017, Article 15.
