Course content
The following thematic areas will be lectured and practiced within the course: a) The most important bibliographic databases oriented to the field of plant health care (WoS, CAB Abstracts, Zoological Records, Biological Abstracts, Food Science and Technology Abstract, Czech Agriculture and Food Bibliography) b) The most significant databases of fulltext sources (Proquest, Science Direct, BioOne, Kluwer / Springer Link, etc.) (c) Plant health care databases (CABI Compendia - Crop Protection Compendium, EU SANCO, MycoBank, etc.) d) Sources of information for phytosanitary advice (pesticide compendium, prognosis and signaling in phytosanitary - prediction models, identification of pests and pests of cultural plants - digitized identification keys) e) personal bibliographic databases (examples of available personal bibliographic databases, establishment and management of a personal bibliographic database, creation of a personal profile, updating of a personal bibliographic database). (f) Information base administered by the UKZÚZ g) Citation Generator (Citation PRO)

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with various sources of information from the field of theoretical and practical plant health care, bibliographic and factographic databases, including the practical use of personal databases.
Students will be able to orientate in bibliographic and factographic databases, including the practical use of personal databases.
Prerequisites
Standard knowledge with computers, internet.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

Active participation in exercises, understanding the curriculum defined for the exam.
